Hi! I'm Wendi. I live with my 84-year-old mother, Mary. I have some health issues, but I take care of Mom. Mom struggles with memory issues and all the things that go with that.

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, we lost our electricity. Not due to non-payment, but because our home is old and the electrical equipment will no longer do. Our energy department cut off our electricity until we can get our problems fixed. Today is Sunday; we have electricians coming tomorrow to replace the box thing that the meter goes in. I don't know the terms for what it is, but the meter is housed in a box that also contains the connection from ground to house to the grid. I don't know if thats even an accurate description but thats about the extent of my knowledge on the subject! We have managed the weekend even though the temperature was difficult. Tonight it is expected to be below freezing.

The cost of the replacement is $4,500.00. That won't be the only cost to us. We will likely have to stay in a hotel tonight if we can find one that is pet-friendly. We also have lost all our food in our refrigerator and an upright freezer.

I know the holidays are upon us, and we are all struggling. I'm not expecting to get all of the funds we need, but anything will go a long way to get us back to our normal. Whether or not you can help, I pray that you are well, and you have an amazing holiday season! God bless!

***update*** Mom and I stayed with my brother over Sunday night. The power was restored Monday evening. Now all that's left to do is to pay the loan for the work and grocery shopping.
