Help Wendel & Lyndsey Rebuild Their Home

 

 

Hello, we’re the Delatte family. Wendel Delatte Sr and Tracy Delatte (parents) currently live in Lakehills, Tx. We have 6 kids - Wendel Delatte Jr, Brittany Kinsey, Brandi Wooddy, Amber Delatte, Nicholas Delatte, and Austin Delatte. We relocated to Texas after damages due to Hurricane Katrina. My son and daughter-in-law, Wendel Delatte Jr and Lyndsey Delatte, stayed behind in their hometown of LaPlace and continued to build their lives there with their own little family. They unfortunately lost their home to Hurricane Ida. My son and daughter are the hardest workers I know and the biggest family people. They have two young daughters, Kali and Zoey, who are also having to go through this unimaginable loss. They would go to the ends of the Earth for their family. They are the type of people to go out of their way to help anyone and everyone - the most selfless hearts you can imagine. After the storm passed and they were able to get back in to LaPlace, they made sure to do whatever they could for other family and friends. While visiting another family member, their 9 year old Kali was attacked by a dog and had to get 23 stitches in her face. She’s now waking up, in the RV they’re staying in since the house is not livable, in tears saying that she keeps dreaming of the attack. When it rains, it seems like it pours. They cannot catch a break. Now just a couple days after the attack, in the middle of cleaning and gutting out their home - they learned that their home insurance policy does not cover wind/hail damage. Therefore, the repairs needed to get them back to normalcy and living in their home that they love so much will have to come out of their own pockets. I wanted to create this account for any friends, family members, or complete strangers to be able to give a little to help their efforts in getting back into their home - the place their family has and will continue to make their memories.
