Help Welcome Shawn Home

Story

Hi friends & family! First, we wanted to thank everyone for their tremendous support from day one. As many of you know, Shawn had a ski accident over Spring Break. Thankfully he was flown to the nearest level one trauma hospital in Denver and underwent spinal fusion surgery on March 14th. After 2 months of recovery and rehab in Denver, we're preparing for Shawn to come home. We wanted to wait to ask for financial help until we knew what our insurance would cover, and Shawn's level of need based on his injury. Shawn’s level of injury is a T6 complete paraplegic, meaning he is paralyzed from his abdomen down and will live life in a wheelchair. Having paralysis means he is going to need special equipment to help him with activities of daily living. Shawn’s PT and OT have helped us understand these needs and what equipment is best for him. We would love your support for the following items to help improve Shawn’s health & daily living: - home renovations for accessibility - garage platform lift - travel equipment - car modifications - muscle therapy equipment - wheelchair accessories We will never be able to thank you enough for all of your love and support! We are extremely thankful to have such wonderful friends & family to support us, especially during this life-changing moment. We love you all!! xoxo, Shawn, Jamie, MJ & Riley
