Help Wedge Get His Hip Surgery

Thursday night, about 2am. Kylie and I came home to find Wedge laying on the floor of our living room, in a spot he doesn't typically lay in. After about ten minutes of him laying there I went to double check on him, and then realized his back left foot was about double the normal size of it. Any petting or touching at all would cause him to howl in pain about it. We ran him to the emergency vet where they took X-rays. Come to find out he fractured the ball-and-socket joint of his femur/hip bones.

Getting the diagnosis itself was almost $600, and now he will have to have reconstructive surgery either today, or Monday if they can't get him in today. The surgery is estimated to cost between $3,000 to $4,000, even more if I have to pay for lodging over the weekend if they can't get him done until Monday.

UPDATE 7/2 2:30pm: They're taking him into surgery on his hip now, however, they also found out he has some torn ligaments in his ankle so they're going to give him a splint for his foot. They said typically those will heal up on their own, but if not he'll need another procedure.

UPDATE 7/2 1:50pm: Wedge is home now!!! He has limited mobility for 3-5 weeks until his leg is better. So he's gonna be living in a kennel for most of that duration. He has to receive three different medications multiple times throughout the day. The healing process is gonna be a slow and tedious one but he should be his old self before too long. <333
