Our friend Jason Weaver went in for a routine surgical procedure earlier this fall in an effort to better himself after a rough end to summer. The next day, he drove himself to the ER after experiencing abdominal pain and underwent emergency surgery to repair a punctured colon caused by a "routine" colonoscopy. The recovery time for this type of surgery is 7 months, and has already resulted in setbacks such as a partially-collapsed lung that have prevented Jason from returning to work. He has "[crappy] Indiana poor people's insurance," so the majority of his medical costs will come out-of-pocket.
He's been reluctant to ask for help, so a few of his friends decided to overrule him and put together a GoFundMe to help cover his bills, groceries, dog food, etc. while he recovers enough to go back to work. Any additional funds will go toward his medical costs.
Whether it's starting a local podcast network and giving friends and strangers alike a chance to chase their dreams, raising money for Meals on Wheels with his yearly podcast-a-thon, or just buying you a drink at McCormick's, Jason has helped a lot of people over the years. Let's pool our funds and give the big lug some support while he recovers enough to return to work.
