Devoted to promoting compassion and kindness towards all living beings, its philosophy is beautifully encapsulated in the words of Albert Einstein: "A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe... widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

We believe that at our inherent core, we are all ONE, sharing common fundamental desires and needs: good health, safety, comfort, food, love, respect, and shelter. Mahnoor, the founder of WE ARE ONE, has been driven by this understanding since the tender age of three. With this understanding came a great deal of sensitivity, and hence, she began to recognize injustice in the world around her...

She understood it when she'd visit pet stores to love on animals, only to find them suffering in tiny cages, suffocated, scared, starving, and ill. She saw it in the way people treated community animals with disdain, yet fawned over foreign breeds, despite seeing only the beauty in Allah's creation. And she witnessed it when donkeys were beaten and worked to the core. No, she did not turn a blind eye. She cried, screamed, and fought, only to be met with disappointment and helplessness every time – but what would a three-year-old girl know?

She knew then what she knows now, speciesism is absolute farce! And as she grew older, Mahnoor became increasingly aware of the challenges in animal welfare, particularly in Pakistan. Animals are often marginalized and mistreated, with strays being seen as inferior or unwanted.

This flawed viewpoint has spawned a toxic narrative, demonizing and dehumanizing the most vulnerable among us – animals.

The cruel realities of pet shops like Tollington Market, dog fighting, zoos, and the mistreatment of working equines are just a few manifestations of this systemic disregard.

At WE ARE ONE, we're not just challenging pervasive ignorance; we're cultivating a culture of compassion and empathy. Through awareness, advocacy, and action, we're working tirelessly to protect the rights and wellbeing of those who cannot speak for themselves - Our mission is built on the principle that welfare should be the only way to life!

A pivotal moment came when the founder's beloved street dogs Bhaalu and Mika were brutally murdered by a government body on March 8, 2025. Their senseless killing sparked outrage, but it also fueled her determination to fight for justice and to protect the vulnerable. We took in their family ( the sole survivors ) , caring for Nanook and her seven precious puppies, while pursuing legal action against their murderers! And on May 28, 2025, we achieved a landmark victory: the court ruled that dog culling in Punjab is illegal, paving the way for humane animal population control!

The journey thus far, has deepened our commitment to our mission. We're striving relentlessly to nurture the lives of street animals through feeding, rescuing, and rehabilitation. Our focus is to eventually launch Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return programs at a larger scale.

From transport to treatment, boarding snd shelter sponsorships, it all requires funds and to sustain our current babies and expand our efforts, we need community-driven support hence, we're turning to kind animal lovers like you to help us make a difference.
