In April 2017, the Wheaton College Field Hockey team celebrated the signing day of Team IMPACT teammate, Savanna! With any team, we didn't just sign our newest member, but also her family: Parents Bill and Lisa, and sister Leigh-Anne.
Savanna has been a great teammate! She always supports her girls, comes prepared and has a smile on her face! She is on the sideline during all of our home games, comes to practices and just last week we went to check out Christmas lights to celebrate the holiday season!
Savanna's father, Bill, has been battling Leukemia for some time and was just recently hospitalized for what was thought to be walking pneumonia. After a few days in the hospital, they discovered the fluid in his lungs and chest were actually caused by a calcifications of fibers surrounding his heart. It had been determined that he will need heart surgery next week, keeping Bill out of work and making things financially difficult for the Hein’s Family.
As a team, we celebrate with each other during the good times and support each other through the challenging times. Our teammate and her family are facing a challenging time and we are asking for donations, big or small, to help them get through yet another battle. On behalf of our teammate, Savanna, and her family, we appreciate your support!
