Help Wayne Stein with Medical Bills

"Samurai Stein is facing his greatest opponent yet: an enemy that invades from within. But this Samurai Master has spent a lifetime disciplining his body and his mind for this fight!  Cancer is about to meet its match!  Join Samurai Stein on this epic, existential adventure!" -- Dr. Allen Rice.

Wayne Stein is a monument to the effects one teacher can have on countless lives across the globe and generations. From his early work as an English teacher at Daewon Foreign Language High School in Korea, to his 25 years with the University of Central Oklahoma, Dr. Stein works tirelessly to invest in being the sagely “guide on the side,” helping to enrich and develop students into whole people. His greatest gift is his passion for helping others share their adventures, explore their passions, and develop common bonds in the human experience through literature and film. More than a classroom lecturer, he invests countless hours in extracurricular activities that share wonderful cultural traditions with Oklahoma and share Oklahoma with the world. Like many readers, in these intertwined capacities, I first met him as a teacher at UCO, then came to know him as a fellow martial artist, and finally came to know him as a colleague in education and writing. He stands tall as a model of the exemplary educator who invests his whole self into improving the world one life at a time with a kind smile, a spirit for exploration, and a passion to share his adventures.

For some time now, however, he has been unable to teach in the global classroom. Cancer has forced him away from many of his teaching platforms, including suspending classes taught with the UCO Budo Society and stepping away from his lectures and online teaching at UCO. Now, he diverts his energy and time from students into this battle. This Go Fund Me campaign for Wayne Stein seeks to help him raise money to continue his cancer treatments.

Here, we his many students and colleagues can provide him support. Please consider how you can support his fight. Please share this message with others through social media. His teaching means so much and has reached so many, we can only hope to return the same in some small measure. -- Mr. Edward Smith.

If you cannot contribute money at this time, then please at least send Wayne your love and support by reaching out and thanking him for all he does for the department, the College of Liberal Arts, the University of Central Oklahoma, and all the people of Central Oklahoma.

"Dr. Stein has given so much to the world—it’s time for the world to give something back to him.  Please consider sending a donation, and put Dr. Stein back in the classroom, where he belongs!" -- Dr. John Hitz.

Please feel free to contact James Daro (jdaro @ my UCO.edu email) if you have any questions.
