I'm setting this up for my dad, Wayne. If you're new here, his medical journey started in 2023. We got the unfortunate news that Summer that he had stage 3 colorectal cancer. A few weeks into chemotherapy, he was admitted to the hospital with a BP of 60/40, he was dying. It turns out, his tumor caused a backup in his colon that caused a tear. This tear caused him to go into septic shock. After 10 days of being in that hospital, he was discharged, they said that his sepsis was resolved. 2 days later, though, he was admitted into a separate hospital... Still in septic shock. After another 3 weeks, he was finally able to come home. Despite appealing the bill from the first hospital, seeking legal consult, and trying to find alternative help, we have not been able to find a way to free him of the nearly $15000 in debt. For the past two years, he has undergone numerous operations along with chemo and radiation, was diagnosed with a separate cancer in his neck, and now has gotten the unfortunate news that his colorectal cancer has come back... And it has spread. He is looking at more operations, more medications, more doctors visits and follow ups.

With that being said, he has been limited on his ability to work and now will need to stop working. And yet, this medical debt is still hanging over his head.

My dad has rarely ever asked for help. He's a good man and he has worked hard his entire life to provide for his children.

I am just trying to help him, too.
