Help Wayne Overcome Medical and Housing Challenges

My name is John Bush. I am Wayne’s great uncle. His mother was Vicki. She was my sister's, Peggy Klyaic, daughter. Most of my life I have helped family and friend in various ways. My late wife Judy and I worked through our church and the Rotary Club and volunteered for other organizations to help others have a better life.

I am asking for donations for Wayne because he has no income to pay monthly bills and is probably going to have significant medical bills and costs related to upgrading some things in the house when he does return home.

Wayne has had a tough 3 years. In May 2022 his dad, Wayne Sr., died from cancer. On the day before Thanksgiving 2023 his mother Vicki, died from pulmonary fibrous. Wayne had been taking care of her and was with her when she collapsed at home and passed away.

It has been a struggle, and he felt he was getting a break and maybe life could be somewhat normal because of a new job. Training for the new job was scheduled for May 6 in Bloomington. I reserved a room for him so he would not have to make the two-hour trip that day. When he looked in the mirror that morning, he was yellow. He went ahead with training but then went to the emergency room next day. They sent him to Ascension St Vincent in Indianapolis for tests. He was there several days to treat the cause of the jaundice.

Wayne had pancreatic cancer surgery on May 27. He has had two follow up surgeries. I am writing this on June 30, and he is still in the hospital.

He has been told he might be there two more weeks and then at least two weeks in rehab before coming home.

He is fearful that there is mold in the house and does not want to return there. We have discussed making the unattached two-car garage into an apartment where he could live.

He needs everyone helping to get through this devastating turn of events.
