Help Wayne Overcome His Medical Battle

Almost 2 months ago my brother Wayne was severely injured in a motorcycle accident. Wayne was launched into a guardrail merging from I70 West onto the I25 North ramp. Wayne was essentially split wide open in half from the back. He was transported to Denver Health by ambulance where the trauma team performed life saving measures. Wayne presented with Acute Blood Loss Anemia, Hemorrhagic Shock, Open Pelvic Fracture, Large Perineal Tear (the area between the anus and scrotum), Scrotal Tear, Grade 3 Liver Laceration, Hemoperitoneum (bleeding within the space that contains your abdominal and pelvic organs), Rib Fractures (multiple), Hemopneumothorax (blood and air put pressure around your lungs-this lead to a collapsed lung), Pulmonary Contusion, Traumatic Pneumatocele (rare complication of blunt chest trauma with uncertain pathogenesis), Adrenal Hematoma, Transverse Process Fractures of L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 (break in the wing like sides at the back of the vertebra), Anal Injury, Right Broken Foot and Ankle, Fracture at the base of his right amputated arm, Lactic Acidosis, Hypocalcemia and Hypokalemia. Wayne has gone through many surgeries and back to back procedures since. This accident has been a horror story for Wayne and for those who care and love him. Everyday has been difficult and will continue to be. He has gone from the ICU to the PCU to a surgical recovery floor. He is now awaiting placement at a Long Term Acute Care Hospital. He will remain at the LTACH for an uncertain amount of time. The goal at the LTACH is to no longer need such extensive medical care and begin to heal. From the LTACH he will hopefully be able to start to sit up, hold his body weight, put his feet on the floor and be strong enough to stand up. Wayne will need to relearn how to walk which will require him going from the LTACH to an Intensive Therapy Hospital. To which he will remain for an uncertain amount of time. We have a long time to go still before Wayne can think about coming home. I am starting this fundraiser on his behalf to help battle the medical bills that will be piling up from the past few months and the months to come. Any amount will help us in this battle.
