This is a call for help. Many of us had the pleasure of working and knowing Wayne James. Wayne is devoted to his family and his career in the Auto Body industry. As many of you know, Wayne would always be one of the first to offer his assistance. Today I am advocating for my friend and mentor. Wayne is battling a complicated form of cancer; with no healthcare benefits, the cost and challenges are overwhelming.
Wayne's wife Kim is sharing their story with us:
"Wayne was diagnosed with metastasized prostate cancer in MARCH 2020. To date, he has undergone hormone therapy with cancer treatment medication, radiation, chemotherapy, and too many medications to list.
Wayne has a rare Gene BRCA2, which makes him more susceptible to aggressive cancers. They have just finished trials that target the gene and help slow cancer. This new treatment called Lynparza (Olaparib) has shown great success, and we are now waiting for Wayne to start this new medication. The cost of this can be upwards of $90,000 a year.
The past year and a half have been extremely tough. Wayne has given his life to the auto industry with great pride, passion, and loyalty, and now, today, we are asking for your help. The expenses are overwhelming, and seeing Wayne stress about making ends meet on his medications and treatments is doing more harm than good.
The doctors are looking into financial help, which is a godsend, and with your support, Wayne can have the best care, and we can focus on the FIGHT ahead.
Wayne is a fighter, and our goal is to continue to fight this battle as there are always new treatments becoming available.
