As many of you know, it was Wayne and Margaret Huckaby's dream to move from Colorado Springs to Bishop, CA to be near their son Joshua. After years of service as regional directors for CBS (Community Bible Study), it was finally time to settle into a place of their own to call home. They found a perfect lot in the beautiful High Sierra setting of Big Pine (just a short distance from Bishop), and in the summer of 2021 built their custom-manufactured home and started their new life.

Wayne was looking forward to landscaping his yard to create a welcoming environment for neighbors and the community. Sadly after just a few short months, in January 2022 Margaret unexpectedly passed from her new earthly home to her forever heavenly home. Wayne's strong faith and support from Joshua and many friends brought them through this difficult time and into a new life of hope and a future.

As if this was not enough, in September 2022 Wayne was diagnosed with hypercalcemia and lymphatic cancer. Thanks to the great care of the doctors at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center and Josh's dedication to taking his dad to the many appointments and chemotherapy treatments, Wayne is again on the mend, for which we are grateful.

However, the dream of landscaping his yard is now far out of reach. If we cannot help, Wayne's yard will remain a dirt lot, unsightly and uninviting for the neighbors and the community that Wayne wishes to serve. Specifically, funding will be used for:

• Basic landscape design

• Grading

• Sprinkler installation

• Sod installation

• Small retaining wall

• Wood fencing between neighbor to the south

Wayne wishes to acknowledge the monetary gifts he received from many friends at Margaret's Celebration of Life. Along with those funds, these additional needed funds will prayerfully complete this project.
