Help Waylon the Pug, Jason & Pauli - Vet Bills

THE NEED:

Donations to help to pay vet bills for a 9 month old black pug puppy, Waylon,
after a severe life-threatening allergic
response. His "human mom" Pauli is
currently undergoing cancer treatments for lymphoma, so his owners Jason &
Pauli are having to allocate all of their
additional income (aside from living
expenses) to her own medical treatment.


THE SITUATION:

On Monday, March 8, 2021- Waylon
started showing symptoms of an allergic reaction & he refused to eat. Soon he
was covered in hives & his face was
swollen. They tried Benadryl, then took
him to the local emergency vet, where he stayed most of the week while they tried to control his swelling & edema - still
unsure what was causing this allergic
reaction. After running tests, taking
bloodwork & treating with steroids, etc... his edema was worsening & the vets told Jason & Pauli that if the edema were to
spread to his heart, their little 9 month
old puppy would not survive.

On Saturday 3/13/21, the emergency vet recommended that Waylon be
transferred to a specialty hospital in
Oregon who were better equipped to
treat severe allergic reactions. After
multiple blood transfusions & other
treatments, Waylon's severe state of
edema finally started to improve.

On Monday, March 15, 2021 - Waylon
was released & is expected to make a full recovery, but still needs additional
dermatologic testing to determine the
cause of his allergy. After all was said &
done - with the emergency vet bills &
veterinary specialty clinic treatment
charges, Jason & Pauli ended up having
to spend $5000 to save their puppy.


THE BACKSTORY:

Jason Whitley & Pauli Gluckman are a
couple who lives in Arcata, CA - engaged to be married soon. I am Nicole
Collins-Rehberg & have set up this
GoFundMe account for my first-cousin
Jason & his fiancé Pauli, to help with
their emergency vet bills for their pug
puppy Waylon.

Pauli was diagnosed with lymphoma in
October 2019 & has been undergoing
chemotherapy & radiation to fight the
cancer ever since. Jason & Pauli decided that a pug puppy was just what they
needed to lift their spirits during this
challenging time.

Since Pauli was immunocompromised
from chemotherapy, it was especially
important that she remain quarantined
throughout the pandemic -to avoid
catching Covid, other viruses &
infections. Their puppy Waylon has given them so much joy & support while they
have been quarantined at home & Pauli
has been going through her intense
cancer treatments.

Waylon's vet bills. You can also donate
via Venmo to Jason-Whitley-2. Jason is
working full-time, but Pauli is currently
unable to work, due to her ongoing
cancer treatments. On top of all this,
Pauli is still in very real danger with her
lymphoma. Recently, Pauli's disability
benefits have also ran out. The vet bills
from Waylon's severe medical
emergency have really put this couple in a financial bind. Even a small donation
