Im mother of 6-Year-Old Waseem Fight Evans Syndrome and Secure His Life-Saving Treatment
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,
We are reaching out to you today with hope, love, and an urgent plea to support our brave 6-year-old boy, Waseem.
Waseem is fighting Evans Syndrome, a rare and severe autoimmune disorder where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys its own red blood cells and platelets. For a young child, this means a constant, exhausting battle for survival.
Waseem’s medical journey has been incredibly long, painful, and financially devastating. He has endured multiple terrifying bleeding episodes, numerous painful bone marrow biopsies, and countless costly routine blood tests to closely monitor his fragile state.
We have tried every available medical avenue to keep him safe, but the financial toll has become too heavy to bear alone:
IVIG Treatments: He was initially treated with multiple rounds of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG)—a critical, life-saving therapy that is staggeringly expensive.
Steroids & Rituximab: He was placed on high-dose steroids but showed no improvement. We then moved to Rituximab infusions, yet his platelet count remained dangerously low, hovering at just 40,000.
Revolade & CellCept (The Financial Burden): To keep Waseem alive and stable, we must secure medications that cost a fortune every single month. He required Revolade, which costs a staggering $1,700, and he currently depends on imported specialized CellCept from Germany, which costs €331 (approximately $400) per supply.
