Update:

Our father was severely injured while attempting to secure an aid parcel from the GHF site! He suffered a bullet which fractured his jaw terribly. He is in a state of constant pain and requires complex surgeries to fully repair the damage. The doctors here did as much as they could for him, but he needs further treatment abroad. The medication required and the follow up monitoring are very expensive here. So we have amended this campaign to include the urgent need for his treatment on top of our basic survival needs. Please read below for the story of our journey over two years and give what you can. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

Help My Family Survive After Losing Everything in G@za

Hello, my name is Waseem. I’m a 23-year-old university student from G@za. I was working toward my education and future when the war began — and everything changed.

I come from a family of seven. Like so many others, we were forced to flee our home after the war began. We sought shelter in an UNRWA school, where the conditions quickly became unbearable. There was no food, no clean water, no electricity — only fear and uncertainty.

On the fourth day of the war, our home and the homes of my relatives were destroyed by airstrikes. We lost everything — our shelter, our belongings, and our sense of safety. We remained at the school for two months, struggling daily just to find a piece of bread or a drop of clean water. With the crossings closed and prices soaring, basic survival became a daily battle.

Eventually, even the school was no longer safe. It was besieged and cut off completely — no food, no water, no communication. During this time, I witnessed horrors no one should ever see: people dying without medical help, children and the elderly starving, and loved ones lost. My uncle and cousin were among those injured. I even saw stray dogs feeding on the bodies of martyrs — a sight I will never forget.

The army later burned our tent during another raid. We were left exposed to the freezing cold with no belongings, no food, and nowhere to go. After the siege lifted, we tried to survive by setting up a makeshift tent near the sea, but the suffering only grew. There was no access to clean water — only salty or contaminated sources. We walked long distances under the sun just to fill a single bowl of water.

We had no bathroom, no sanitation, and were surrounded by harmful insects. Flour became so expensive — $500 for 25 kg — that many families went hungry for months. We were forced to dig holes outside our tent just to manage sewage.

Despite everything, we held on. When a temporary truce was announced, we returned to our destroyed home, hoping to rebuild. But just two months later, the war resumed. Once again, we were ordered to evacuate — but this time, we had no money, no transportation, and no strength left to flee. We now live in a tent, struggling to survive after yet another forced displacement from the rubble of our home.

This is my reality. This is my family’s suffering.

We are starving. We are cold. We are forgotten.
No one has helped us — not because they don’t care, but because the world is overwhelmed. But maybe you can.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. Please consider donating to help me and my family survive. Every small amount goes toward food, clean water, and basic shelter. Even if you can’t give, please share our story. It could make all the difference.

With hope and gratitude,
Waseem

We are still alive — but we need your help to stay that way.
