Hello, my name is Waseem Dahlan, and I am a Palestinian citizen from Gaza. I live with my family, which consists of nine members, including my 92-year-old grandmother. Amidst this ongoing war, we have lost everything in an instant. Our home, once a sanctuary, has been completely destroyed, and our lives have turned into an unending nightmare.
My grandmother, who has surpassed ninety years, symbolizes wisdom and patience. However, in these harsh conditions, she suffers from numerous chronic illnesses, and the war that devastates everything around us has made her life more difficult than ever before. Every day, we witness how the suffering we endure affects her health and comfort. The pain we face in these circumstances is so profound that words cannot fully capture it.
I am Waseem, a university student who was passionate about building my future and learning. However, this war has turned my life upside down. My dreams that once blossomed in the university corridors have been shattered by the devastation that has befallen us. The war has not only disrupted my academic life but has also crippled every aspect of our personal lives. My father, who worked tirelessly in a small grocery store to provide for us, has lost everything. His store has been destroyed, and we are left without a source of income, facing extreme economic hardship.
Despite the incredibly difficult conditions we are living in, hope is what drives us to continue struggling. We are searching for a glimmer of hope amid this sea of destruction, striving to survive despite all the adversities we face. I have learned that humanity comes together in times of crisis, and your support can make the difference between life and death in such circumstances.
We seek your support and assistance, not only for us but also to alleviate the harshness of my grandmother’s life in these trying times. Providing aid in these difficult moments can serve as a beacon of hope in the darkness. We believe that humanity still exists and that we can find solace in the help we offer one another.
