We are WARP, the 2024 UK National Champions for F1 in Schools in Development class. While we were invited to the World Finals that year, we decided against going due to focusing on GCSEs. Now, we're partaking in the competition again, with an aim to be invited to the world finals again.
This victory was the result of countless hours spent designing, testing, and refining our car, and other deliverables. Now, we are ready to take on our next challenge, while competing in Professional Class. The Professional Class is the highest tier of competition, where we will be competing against the very best teams in the country, all vying for a place at the World Finals.
Why We Need Your Support
Transitioning to the Professional Class comes with significant costs. To compete at the highest level, we need to invest in much more expensive resources. Your generous support will directly fund:
- Advanced Manufacturing: For example the cost of specialist paints, finishing materials, etc.
- Research & Development: Funding for prototyping materials and physical track testing. While we use industry-standard software like Ansys for virtual testing, creating physical prototypes is essential to make sure our submissions are as optimal as they can be. This iterative process of design, build, and test is key to our success in the competition.
- Competition Logistics: Covering entry fees for the Professional Class, which are significantly higher, as well as travel and accommodation for national and potentially international events.
- Professional Branding & Pit Display: Creating a high-quality, professional pit display and team uniform. A polished and engaging display not only scores important points but also reflects the quality of our team's deliverables.
