Help Waqas Ahmad: A Brilliant Data Scientist’s Last Hurdle

I am starting this fundraiser for a person I am proud to call my friend and "a brother from another mother," Waqas Ahmad. We were colleagues at the same company, where I saw firsthand his incredible work ethic, his brilliant mind for technology, and his relentless drive to improve himself despite the challenges life has thrown at him.

The Achievement of a Lifetime

Waqas is one of the most deserving people I know. Coming from Bhakkar, a remote area in Pakistan, he has worked night shifts and handled complex IT projects just to save for his education. His hard work recently paid off: he secured official admission to the Master of Statistics and Data Science at Hasselt University in Belgium.To prove his merit, he achieved an outstanding TOEFL iBT score of 104, with an near-perfect 29/30 in Listening and 26/30 in Reading. He has the brains and the heart; now he just needs the help.

The 14-Day Crisis

We are in a race against time. Waqas received his official tuition invoice on April 15, and he has a 14-day window to make the first payment to secure his seat. Because of the severe economic crisis and currency devaluation in Pakistan, his hard-earned savings are no longer enough to meet the legal requirements for his university fees and Belgian student visa.
