Help Wanda with Her Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Wanda and I am fundraising for cancer treatment. I have included a picture of me with my granddaughter. First, I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been my support, my friend, and provided a listening ear over the years. I was diagnosed with primary myelofibrosis, a rare bone marrow disorder, in 2010. My prognosis was not very good in the beginning and my life expectancy back in 2010 was maybe 2 years. However, God answered many prayers and there was a clinical trial at MD Anderson for people with PMF. In July 2019 the myelofibrosis transformed into Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The AML is currently managed with chemotherapy but the myelofibrosis is causing major issues again. At the beginning of November 2021, I was rushed to MD Anderson by ambulance. While in the hospital I learned wonderful news that I am a candidate for a new clinical trial for people with myelofibrosis. My treatment begins on 11/18/2021 and it involves IV infusions at MD Anderson once a week for 8 weeks and then once a month for 36 months. The clinical trial in 2010 and the grace of God are the only reasons I am alive today. This fundraiser is to help with some of the out-of-pocket costs associated with traveling to Houston the next 3+ years for treatment. My goal for this fundraiser is $5,000. I am very thankful and appreciative for any amount you are able to contribute. Please continue to keep me in your prayers. God bless and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
