Help Walter Rebuild After Devastating Fire

My name is Keila McGuary, and I am raising funds on behalf of my lifelong friend, Walter Fuentes. We have been friends since 2009, and he is one of the most brilliant minds I have ever encountered. Walter has always been there for those around him, and I have fond memories of spending countless hours studying in his childhood home during high school.

On December 4, 2024, a short circuit caused by a fan sparked a fire in Walter's childhood home in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The fire severely damaged their home and his aunt's home, destroying appliances, beds, furniture, clothing, and personal belongings. Thankfully, thanks to the swift intervention of two fire trucks and the solidarity of their neighbors, the fire was contained without anyone getting hurt.

However, the aftermath is devastating. The roof sheets were torn apart, the walls cracked, and the electrical wiring was destroyed. Eight people, including several minors, lived in this home. The family's financial situation makes it impossible to cover the costs of repairs or replace what was lost.

Today, more than ever, they need our help. Every contribution, no matter the size, represents a step towards rebuilding their home and restoring their stability. Thank you so much for your consideration and support.

Mi nombre es Keila McGuary y estoy recaudando fondos en nombre de mi amigo de toda la vida, Walter Cuéllar. Hemos sido amigos desde 2009, y es una de las mentes más brillantes que he conocido. Walter siempre ha estado ahí para quienes lo rodean, y guardo recuerdos entrañables de las incontables horas que pasé estudiando en su hogar de infancia durante la secundaria.

El 4 de diciembre de 2024, un cortocircuito provocado por un ventilador desató un incendio en la casa de infancia de Walter en San Pedro Sula, Honduras. El fuego causó graves daños en su hogar y en el de su tía, destruyendo electrodomésticos, camas, muebles, ropa y pertenencias personales. Afortunadamente, gracias a la rápida intervención de dos camiones de bomberos y al apoyo solidario de sus vecinos, el incendio fue controlado sin que nadie resultara herido.

Sin embargo, las secuelas son devastadoras. Las láminas del techo quedaron destrozadas, las paredes se agrietaron y el cableado eléctrico quedó completamente destruido. Ocho personas, incluidos varios menores de edad, vivían en esta casa. La situación económica de la familia hace imposible cubrir los costos de las reparaciones o reemplazar lo que se perdió.
