My name is Alyssa Wengel and I am deaf. I am writing to help my brother Walt Wengel because he is old school guy and he rarely asks for help. I love my brother Walt because he is a good guy and he is there for me so many times.

Now, it is my turn to return favors for Walt and I do want to help Walt with his medical expenses. I am seeking donations to cover his medical expenses. I truly appreciate your compassions and donations to help my brother Walt.

Walt is avid drag racing / bracket racing and Walt loves working on anything that has engines and wheels. Walt is Senior Master Technician and Diesel Certified Technician. Walt is Automotive Technician for over 40 years.

Between the year of late 2019 and 2021, Walt starts to feel lack of energy, major headaches and vertigo. In the late 2021 and early 2022, Walt is experiencing dry heaving, vomiting with blackish fluids, greenish fluids and blood.

Walt went to family physician to find out what's wrong. Walt took Covid test twice and both times they came out negative. Shortly after that Walt's family physician draw blood, that first blood results were so bad, family physician thought it is contaminated from mishandling, then came second blood test, it matches first blood test results.

Family physician ordered Walt to hospital NOW.

After arriving hospital, E.R doctor went over previous two blood test results, E.R doctor refused to believe previous blood test results, so Walt had this third blood drawn again, this time third blood test results matches first two blood test results.

Immediately, Walt was rushes to have compete body scan, urine sample and antibiotics. Walt was told that he is going to stay in hospital for a long time.

Next day Walt was rush to I.R.... Intervention Radiology to have chest catheter put in. Blood transfusion is next on this list, shortly after that Walt got his first dialysis treatment.

Nephrologist came by and told Walt the bad new... End Stage Renal Failure.... kidney failure Stage 5.

Nephrologist gave Walt the most haunting statement that bothers Walt to this day... " No way, you should be vertical "

During the time Walt stays at hospital, Walt had nephrostomy tubes inserted, various x ray test, and countless dialysis treatments.

Walt finally came home in late July, Walt continues to have dialysis treatments 3 days a week, each treatment lasting 4 hours.

In mid of August 2022, Walt is experiencing major stomach cramps and no urine on both nephrostomy bags. Walt is rushes bad to hospital, doctor perform bladder scan, found out that Walt's bladder is overfilled then came foley catheter to produce urine flow, unfortunately, no urine flow.

Two nurses pump saline fluid through foley catheter, finally urine starts to flow. First thing Walt notice is the smell, worse than cat's piss and his urine is thick and yellow like banana milkshake.

During Walt's other long stay at hospital, Walt got various scan and treatments. Back to Intervention Radiology, doctor add dye to nephrostomy tubes, the results is dye flowing through both ureters, which is deform due to birth defect that causes kidney failure in first place.

Walt was sent back home week before Labor Day 2022, between Labor Day 2022 to November 2022, Walt was sent back to hospital to have Intervention Radiology to preform final dye test, the result was dye is flowing through both ureters freely without any obstructions. Walt finally got both nephrostomy tubes removed.

Present day, Walt still continues to get dialysis treatments three days a week, Walt still goes to various doctors for checkups and many other kidneys related diagnosis.

Walt doesn't have energy like he used to have, Walt is still on strict diet and drinks. Walt continues to get medical expenses nearly every month, Walt's insurance only pays small portion to his medical expenses.
