Wally the Lamb - lets fix his eyesight!!
Wally The Tiny Lamb needs help....
UPDATE - After getting more tests done, it appears that Wally will need eye surgery to stop him going blind. We are looking at around $6,000 just for the surgery alone through a specialist animal surgeon in Melbourne. Any contributions toward his surgery are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to keeping you all updated. Thankyou!
--------------------------------------------------
Wally is a super tiny little lamb who was born at 900g on our Spray Free Market Garden at Tower Hill in Victoria (Australia). He is now 4 weeks old and has beaten the odds so far to be come possibly the smallest lamb to survive. He has a wonderful nature and brings absolute delight to our family and to many others around the country through his story of survival on Social Media, Newspapers, the ABC news, and radio. His full story can be found on our Facebook page (Volcano Produce - Tower Hill) or Instagram (@wally_the_tiny_lamb). He is certainly a feel good story in these times of so much negativity.
However, Wally really needs our help. He has developed some issues with his eyesight, likely linked to his small birth weight. He now has limited vision, and can only see about 30cm in front of him. We are determined to do everything we can to prevent him from going blind. We have regular visits to the vet but we need to get further testing done to diagnose the problem. The diagnostic tests are close to $1000 alone. Then we have the cost of actually fixing the problem. These are costs in addition to what we have spent so far. Wally is a serious fighter. We feel we need to give him every chance at a long and happy life as a pet on our hobby farm. Your help, however small, is so much appreciated. Thanks for reading this. The Pohlner Family.
