Help Walker Continue Autism Treatment

Walker was diagnosed at 20 months with Level 3 Autism and is nonverbal. He experiences life in a way that is unique, but also incredibly challenging. He cannot tell us when he’s hurt, what he needs, or how much he loves us. As his parents, we see his light every single day, but we also see the frustration of being unable to communicate. Imagine having thoughts, feelings, and needs… but no way to express them. That is Walker’s reality.

We have poured everything we have into helping him with multiple therapies, interventions, and specialists. We celebrate every small victory, and we are determined to keep fighting for more opportunities for him.

Last year, with generous support from family & close friends, we made the hopeful decision to pursue treatment at the Stem Cell Institute in Panama. Research conducted through this institute has shown promising results in children with autism, including improvements in communication, social interaction, attention, and behavior. The therapy uses umbilical cord-derived stem cells, which may help reduce inflammation in the brain and support neurological function; areas believed to play a role in autism. While this treatment is still considered experimental in the US and not yet FDA-approved for autism, it offers something we desperately hold on to... HOPE.

After his treatment, we witnessed meaningful gains in Walker including increased awareness, more engagement with the world around him, and small but powerful steps forward that gave us renewed hope for his future. Changes that may seem small to others were life‑changing for our family. Because of the progress we saw, we are hoping to return in July 2026 so Walker can continue this treatment and build on the gains he’s already made.

Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by insurance, and between medical costs, travel, lodging, and therapy expenses, the financial burden is significant. We are humbly asking for help to make this next step possible for our son.

My biggest fear is this:

One day, when I’m gone… will he understand?
Will he wait for me, wondering where I am?
How long will he wait for me to come back?

That thought never leaves my heart. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Walker one step closer to continued progress. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story means just as much. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and belief in Walker.
