My sister Wajeeha, a 28-year-old entrepreneur and software engineer from Pakistan, had her life abruptly altered when she suddenly couldn't breath and was diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism, an autoimmune disorder (SLE), and a blood clotting disorder (APS). These diagnoses have left her bedridden and dependent on oxygen 24/7 for the past six months with extremely high burden on her heart and lungs.
Anyone who knows Wajeeha knows what a kind-hearted soul she is, always full of life and never afraid of dreaming big. She has always been a wonderful friend, a beautiful sister, loving daughter, and a superhuman who has faced every challenge with strength and a smile.
Her medical condition right now is critical, and there haven't been many treatment options for her here in Pakistan. Doctors recommended open heart surgeries but with concerns of high risks and potentially low success rates. In this difficult moment, Dr. Ammar Sarwar, an Interventional Radiologist from Harvard in the US, stepped in, bringing a ray of hope for us. He suggested a much safer treatment option which holds better promise for her recovery.
Throughout this challenging journey, the financial burden has been overwhelming and the new treatment option comes at an immense cost. Every step of this difficult journey, we have relied on the support and kindness of friends, family, and even strangers, which have served as our source of strength.
Today, we are reaching out to you to help Wajeeha on her path to recovery. Your contribution can make an incredible difference in her life. Your generosity will provide the financial means necessary to access the life-saving medical care and treatment that holds the promise of a brighter, healthier future for Wajeeha.
