Hello all. My name is Natalia, and I live in New York City. I created this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Wadei in Gaza, who I speak with daily. Wadei and his family urgently need help covering basic necessities. Since Wadei cannot reliably access fundraising or international banking platforms from Gaza, donations will be received by me and then transferred directly to Wadei and his family through an international wire transfer. I will keep records of transfers and, when safe, share receipts and proof of the same.

My name is Wadei Mohamad Arada. I am 20 years old, and I live with my mother, brother, and sister in central Gaza.

اسمي وديع محمد ابو عراده. عمري 20 عامًا، وأعيش مع والدتي وأخي وأختي في وسط قطاع غزة.

We were living in our home in happiness, comfort, and safety until October 7, when the war began.

كنا نعيش في بيتنا في سعادة وهناء وأمن وامان حتى جاءت السابع من اكتوبر وبدات الحرب

We had neighbors who were among the best people. We lived together like brothers and will never forget them, no matter how far the war, destruction, and displacement have taken us. Our beloved city of Rafah will always remain the closest to my heart.

Before the genocide, our family supported ourselves through farming and agriculture work.

قبل الإبادة الجماعية، كانت عائلتنا تعتمد على الزراعة والعمل الزراعي لإعالة أنفسنا.

I loved my work very much and never grew tired of it. I would wake up early and go to my job so I could provide for my mother and sister and give them what we needed, without having to ask anyone for help.

About two years ago, our family was forcibly displaced from our home in the Southern Gaza Strip after the occupation forces destroyed our house and source of livelihood. Since then, we have been living in extremely harsh and unstable conditions.

Today, we have no permanent or warm shelter and struggle every day to secure basic necessities such as flour, vegetables, clean water, and other essential supplies needed to survive.

Destruction surrounds me wherever I am and wherever I walk. I see nothing but it, and I smell the scent of blood everywhere.

Time has separated me from my friends and relatives. Some of them have died, others are missing, and I have been left alone.

My sister lives with a disability, which makes daily life under these conditions even more difficult for our family. After losing our father during the bombardment, much of the responsibility for supporting my family fell on me, despite my young age. Right now, we depend entirely on donations to meet our basic needs.
