Help Wade Johnson and His Family

Donation protected
As a lot of you know, my brother, Wade Johnson, has been battling a rare type of cancer called basal cell adenocarcinoma since March, 2019.  Initially doctors found a cancerous lump on the roof of his mouth that was removed in a 15 hour surgery, in which they also had to reattach a vein from his foot, and take some skin grafts from his leg to repair his mouth.  After the surgery, he had several weeks of radiation, which left him without the ability to produce saliva.  He has been feeding partially through a stomach tube since then.

Since December of 2019 Wade's vision has been deteriorating.  He had an MRI in December, a PET scan in January that showed spots on the lungs, and a biopsy of the lung and another CT scan from there.  These scans showed various cancerous spots throughout his body and bones, not just on the lung.  The cancer is showing as basal cell adenocarcinoma, the same type that was on the roof of his mouth.  It is very rare, and for it to spread like it has is very unheard of. As such, they don't know what to do with it because they don't have any other cases to compare it to.

He has had several more appointments, scans and tests since then, including a bone scan and an echo cardiogram, and his oncologist has now formulated a plan.  He had his first round of chemotherapy March 11th, and will continue chemo one day, every 3 weeks, with no expected end at this point.  He will also have an additional 10 days of radiation to attack the cancer cells from every angle.

Because of these circumstances, Wade has not been able to work in just about a year. Laurel, his wife, has to be home most of the time as, due to Wade's vision, he cannot drive himself to any of his appointments.  They are currently living in the small community of Mortlach, SK, with their kids, but will need to relocate soon as they are no longer able to rent the house they are in. The funds raised here will be used to help Wade and his family get relocated and settled somewhere that he can continue with his treatments comfortably with his family by his side.

We appreciate the love, support, and help of everyone!  Thank you!
