Help Michael “Wade” Wade Jr. Fight Stage 4 Cancer
A Devastating Diagnosis
Michael “Wade” Wade Jr. was set to undergo a rare and complex heart surgery at Mayo Clinic—one so uncommon that only a handful of doctors in the country perform it. But on the eve of this critical procedure, Wade and his wife, Crissy, received news that changed everything. Instead of moving forward with his heart surgery, Wade was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer with metastatic disease to his lymph nodes and extensive bone cancer.
A Fight for His Life
This devastating diagnosis has upended Wade and Crissy’s lives. Due to the complexity of his case, Wade will now require ongoing chemotherapy and additional treatments at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, every three weeks. The travel, medical expenses, and time away from work will place an overwhelming financial strain on their family.
A Family in Need
Crissy, a dedicated therapist, will need to take multiple days off each month to be by Wade’s side, supporting him through treatments while also caring for their adopted son and foster children. Wade’s ability to work and maintain insurance will also likely be significantly impacted due to the side effects of chemotherapy and other treatments.
A Call for Support
Both Wade and Crissy have always given back to their community—through their professions, their love for children in need, and their kindness to those around them. Now, they need our support as they navigate this heartbreaking journey.
The financial impact of Wade’s treatment and the necessary time off work is estimated to be at least $20,000-$30,000. These funds will help cover:
Travel expenses for medical treatments
Medical bills not covered by insurance
Loss of income and insurance due to Wade’s inability to work
Time off work for Crissy to care for Wade and their children
Basic living expenses during this difficult time
