Vulcan, also known as Mr. Man, has been with me since the day he was born. I raised him alongside his mom and he’s been my constant companion through every move—from California to Montana, and now to Tennessee. Vulcan is the sweetest little boy an owner could ask for. He loves to cuddle, be around people, and has a way of winning over even those who say they don’t like cats. At 8 1/2 years old, his strikingly handsome looks and loving personality have made him a favorite among everyone who meets him.
In October, I noticed an open wound on Vulcan’s tail. Despite different medications and topical treatments, the wound spread to his butt, limbs, back, and face, developing into painful pustules and nodules. After months of searching for answers, a specialist finally diagnosed him with Feline Progressive Histiocytosis—a rare and aggressive skin cancer. There is no standard treatment or prognosis for this disease, but we are doing everything we can to give Vulcan the best quality of life for as long as possible. This may include chemotherapy and radiation, which are both costly and uncertain, but I am determined to do whatever it takes for my sweet boy.
Thank you to everyone who has given this story the time of day. Any share, repost, or donation of any kind is greatly appreciated and doesn’t go unnoticed. This is my baby and I want to give him the best rest of his life possible. Thank you for your kindness and support.
