Help Vukan play with his brothers

Hi all, please help my nephew Vukan play football with his brothers.

 

Vukan is a 5year old boy with Cerebral Palsy. After five years of different treatments and therapies, we need to do stem cell therapy in Istanbul (Turkey). The treatment costs about 20 000e, and it should be done by the end of April.

 

Vukan was born prematurely. His lungs weren’t fully developed, so he was left with a lack of oxygen. It caused some brain damage. He had intracranial bleeding (II degree). The bleeding and lack of oxygen left permanent brain damages. He also had icterus, which made his blood full of bilirubin instead of oxygen for the first few months of his life. The consequences were that he had a delay in his psychomotor development.

 

It all went very slowly in the beginning. With a lot of treatments and practice, we managed that he started crawling at the age of 1.5, he started walking when he was 2.5, but his walk didn’t look as usual. His posture wasn’t very stable and firm. He needed to balance by using his core. And that`s how it still looks like.

 

He had eye surgery at the age of 3. Besides these motoric issues, he is a quite lovely and charismatic boy. He makes his friendships easily and attracts attention and sympathies wherever he is. But the bad motor skills disable him from doing many usual things. He has two brothers and a sister. They are all very active and lively, so he always tries to keep his step up to them, but it’s becoming more and more difficult. He would like to play football and basketball, ride a bike, and participate in all the activities when he`s outside, but it`s not always possible.

 

Stem cell therapy could improve the damage of white brain mass. It could reduce the leukomalacia (damages of white brain cells), help him learn faster, reduce his spasticity, make it easier for him to walk, run, have better posture, and have a normal life. That`s why we want to give him the chance to improve all of his skills and abilities.

Any help will be appreciated. Just sharing, and having Vukan in your thoughts and prayers will also be a big gift to whole family.

All donated funds will be withdrawn to my personal bank account from which I will transfer to main account used for all funds that were donated for Vukan. I will be sharing pictures with you all once we reach the goal and I am able to transfer the funds to them. I am doing this to save time due to time difference between me and where Vukan is, origins of fundraiser and time that would take to set my cousin (Vukan's mom) as beneficiary.
