His Story

Von played football for the Kansas Jayhawks, then had a short stint in the NFL. Years later, those gridiron battles caught up with him. His spine has endured years of strain and injury.

After three major back surgeries, the nerves that tell his legs how to move simply stopped cooperating.

For the past two months, Von has been in a rehab center, working every day to re-train his body to walk again.

He’s fighting with everything he’s got—but this time, he can’t do it alone.

Von lives alone in Colorado. He’s single, has no kids, and his family is out of state.

He sells industrial supplies and loves his work, but he’s been out for months.

Even with insurance, his medical and rehab costs are piling up. The bills are overwhelming, and his income has stopped. Yet, through it all, he keeps smiling—because that’s who Von is.
