Help Volodymyr and Luba Escape Ukraine

As the world is well aware Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. My wife's parents who are in their 70's live in the city of Kharkiv were forced to flee their apartment and take shelter in an underground parking garage. They stayed there with several other families cautiously venturing out to get food and water hoping that it would only last a few days at the most. However, the Russian army continued to bombard Kharkiv and destroying a large part of the city. On March 2nd, as Russian paratroopers landed in Kharkiv, Volodymyr and Luba, along with some other families they loaded into two large vehicles and attempted to escape the city. Thankfully, they were able to get out and are making their way west to the Polish border. Our parents have their green cards and once they get across the border we will be purchasing tickets for them to fly to the U.S.A. and begin a new life here with us.

They have had to leave everything behind and are truly refugees. They will be coming to us with nothing except the clothes they are wearing and the reality is that they may never be able to return to Kharkiv. We are begining this fund to help them be able to restart here.

What will this money be used for? First of all to help them purchase tickets to fly here and also other expenses while they travel such as hotels and food. Once they cross the border into Poland we will have to purchase tickets for the next day. When they arrive in the U.S.A. they will need to purchase clothing and other basic living essentials. Also, although they will stay with us initially they will need money to help get into a long-term place to live.
