Help Volden's Battle Against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Destiny and I am fundraising for my new father-in-law, Volden Burk, who was suddenly diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer requiring brain surgery.
The day after my husband and I got back from our honeymoon, we received a call that Volden was taken to the hospital for what they thought was vertigo caused by an ear infection but was really aggressive brain cancer. He had a brain tumor that had grown so quickly (in a matter of 3-4 weeks) that it caused severe swelling in the brain and required surgery as soon as possible. If he had not gone to the hospital, he would have died in a matter of a few weeks.
His surgery was on Monday (3 days ago) and we have watched in awe as the Lord has preserved his life through the procedure and given him hope for a few more years on this earth with his family.
Despite having healthcare that "covers everything," Volden and his wonderful wife Ere'ne have already been slapped with thousands of dollars of medical bills. On top of this, Volden's work contract ends in June. He needs rehabilitation, radiation, and chemo, but will not do so if it burdens Ere'ne with medical debt.
We need a miracle. Not just a miracle for Volden's brain, but a financial miracle.
We need your help. We are exhausting all other financial resources but it is not enough. $8,000 is our conservative fundraising goal but this sweet couple need all the help we can give them.
Volden needs the rehabilitation, radiation, and chemo to live. His healthcare will cover much of the cost, but not nearly enough for all of the extra medical care he will need during this time. (Let alone the loss of income when his work contract ends in a month.)
Those who know Volden know that he is always serving others and loves God with all His heart, might, mind, and soul. He and Ere'ne are lifters in the community, bringing joy to the community through their local dance studio and helping in their church congregation.
Volden and Ere'ne have been a miracle to others and this is the opportunity for us to be a miracle to them! Please consider donating and sharing this GoFundMe.
