Hi, our names are Rob & Courtney Freese. We are raising funds for our pup, Vixen. She was attacked by another dog a few weeks ago. We took her to an emergency room for dogs, where she had to have surgery that maxed out our credit cards. We brought her home, and she was on the mend and getting back to being her usual smiley self. We took her in for a follow-up appointment to remove the drain from the wound and were told that she would need further care or they would euthanize her. She hadn’t even finished her antibiotics, so we wanted a second opinion. We know our dogs and if they are hurting… Vixen was getting back to her usual shenanigans. When we asked to take her home, we were threatened with them calling Animal Control on us. We eventually were able to take her home that day, but the next day, police showed up at our house and took her from us for alleged “Animal Cruelty.” We are now trying to file to get her home and part of the process involves us paying $750 cash for a 30-day cost of care bond they’ve imposed. We have to pay it by November 19th at 4:30 pm. The whole thing doesn’t seem fair, especially considering that they haven’t even had her for a week and a half. If we were cruel to animals, why would they leave our other two dogs with us? We have never been cruel to our pets; we treat them as family and love them as much as our kids.
