Hey
I’m a movement artist from Brazil, and I’ve been living in the UK for almost three years.
Recently, I applied for an endorsement from Arts Council England for the Global Talent Visa, a process that took over seven months due to the complexity and specific requirements of the paperwork. On the 27th, I received the news that I’ve been endorsed as an Exceptional Promise.
The Global Talent Visa would allow me to stay in the UK for five more years, continue building the projects I’ve started, and keep contributing meaningfully to the artistic and cultural landscape here. But the total cost is £5,941, which includes:
Visa application fee: £766
Immigration Health Surcharge (5 years): £5,175
you can find this information here: https://www.gov.uk/global-talent
Unfortunately, this is far beyond what I can afford on my own.
I’ve worked incredibly hard just to survive here and to make my work visible and impactful. Those who know me can attest to the dedication and resilience I’ve had to live with every day. I applied for this visa because I deeply believe that the place you’re born shouldn’t define where your art and your voice are allowed to go.
I’m reaching out for support because I believe in the value of my work and in the importance of having artists like me represented and creating. This is not just about a visa; it’s about justice and access.
My current visa is valid until August 30th so I need to apply for the GTV until then.
If you’re able to help, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign with others, it would mean the world to me.
With love and gratitude,
Vivian Guyrá
