On August 4, 2025, our beloved 12-year-old granddaughter Charlotte was catastrophically injured in a devastating car accident. She sustained a concussion, right kidney damage, multiple fractures to her pelvis and hips, a serious spinal injury that required spinal fusion of several vertebrae, and a shattered right tibia that now holds a permanent rod. Her body is also covered in deep cuts and lesions from head to toe. She faces another major surgery soon to repair her right hip and pelvis.

Charlotte is currently bed bound in the pediatric ICU and will require long-term, intensive rehabilitation before she’ll be able to walk again.

Her mother, Vivian, is a single mom of four dependent children and the sole provider for their household. To care for Charlotte during her hospital stay and throughout the long and difficult recovery ahead, Vivian will need to take time away from work.
