At the end of August, my boyfriend Justin and I found the most perfect dog to add to our family. She is everything we could have hoped for and dreamed of, and has so many people who love her. On 10/19, I noticed that she no longer wanted to use her back left leg. We initially believed that maybe she had sprained it or hyperextended her muscle, however when I woke up on 10/20 I didn’t feel right not taking her to be seen. We confirmed that she had a CCL tear, which is like a human’s ACL. Surgery to repair this will be more than Justin and I could put together on such short notice and we were advised that the chance of her right CCL tearing is significant as well especially with her compensating now that she can’t use her left leg. We are raising funds for the surgery so not only can she be seen and fixed ASAP but we can also start saving up for a second surgery in the event that her right leg does the same. All donations will go towards the diagnostic imaging, surgery, vet appointments, and any additional needs like medical supplies, medications, etc. We appreciate everyone who has reached out to show us love and support and understand that times are tough for everyone. Vivi deserves a long and pain free life and we believe she was brought to us so we could provide that for her. We don’t know her past but want to give her the best future possible.
