Update: Violy brought Roland's ashes to Philadelphia where his family and friend's could attend a memorial to honor Roland, where he could rest in peace with family and friends.

Now, Violy is back in Santa Cruz for a second memorial at the Tannery Arts Center where they lived and were deeply involved in community for 15 years.

There are still expenses. without Roland's income, it is more difficult to pay rent and other bills.

Our community lost a beloved sacred elder, Roland Law. He battled cancer for over a year and passed at home wit his wife Violeta. Roland was a bright light in our Santa Cruz community for 15 years, he showed us how to care for all of each other. His wife of 33 years, Violeta wants to bring his ashes to his family and friends in Philadelphia, and have a last service in the family church.
