My name is Yvonne and this is a fund raiser for one of my best friends, Violet Stone. She recently had 2 mini strokes and has been in and out of the hospital. The first trip to the hospital she was there for almost a week in ICU before being moved into the stroke unit. The next trip was less than a week later and by ambulance with the paramedics and then right into the ICU for several days. She's not able to work or drive anymore and because she was part time she's not eligible for short term or long term disability. The Dr's found a mass on her pituitary gland and she's being referred to OHSU in Portland to a neurologist. With this development there will be additional costs incurred going back and forth to Portland that we have to factor in as well. Praise God she's got insurance that will cover most if not all of her medical costs! However, since she can't work she is running just a little short each month that is why the amount isn't huge. Her daughter, Julie Williams and I are trying to take some of the financial stress off of Violet by doing this, so please if you can help at all, every little bit helps!
