Hello! I'm Violet Yap, I'm 15 years old and a sophomore in high school. I'm super excited to share that I have been selected to play for the USA national team this summer at the World Junior Ultimate Championship (WJUC). I will be traveling to Logroño, Spain to represent the United States in July.

I fell in love with Ultimate sitting on the sidelines watching my older brother play, wishing that could be me. I've been throwing a frisbee my whole life and this sport means so much to me. I have met many amazing people through frisbee and I know what having a supportive community feels like. Frisbee has given me so much, from close friends to life skills and leadership. It has taught me that if I truly want to achieve something and I am passionate about it, anything is possible.

Out of 200 participants that attended tryouts, I was chosen to represent the Women's team. There are three teams: Open (Men), Women's, and Mixed (Co-Ed).

This opportunity has meant so much to me because it's given me the ability to step out of my comfort zone. Traveling internationally for this sport is beyond what I've dreamed about, however it is expensive!

Any support is greatly appreciated as the funds are going to coaching staff, training camps, travel, lodging, and uniforms.
