Help Violet Come Home: Support Our Family

Hi,

This is really hard for me and my family to reach out for help like this, but we have finally hit a point of critical overload where if we don't do something, it's going to start severely impacting our family.

My daughter Violet was a complete surprise. We were not trying for another baby; I was told I couldn't have more children after getting extremely sick with my first, and to top it all off, I was on birth control.

We found out I was pregnant at what we thought was 30 weeks when my water broke. I was transferred to a big hospital in Seattle away from home, where they attempted to keep little Violet inside for as long as possible so that the steroids at least could do their job to mature her lungs enough she could survive. They delivered her via C-section 3 days later when I began to get really sick, and we found out she was only 28 weeks gestational age.

From there, it's been 115 days of hell (as of writing this 1/07/25).

We have skipped from hospital to hospital, being passed around and watching as her list of diagnoses grows longer every week, it feels like. She has chronic lung disease, spent a month plus intubated, and is still on oxygen 4 months later. She's anemic and has had 6 blood transfusions. She had a procedure to close a defect in a valve of her heart. She's had hours and hours of testing done to determine why she can't keep food down, and as of the seventh of January, we still don't know why she is vomiting. She is still on a feeding tube, and the list keeps growing.

It feels like a nightmare rollercoaster with no end in sight.

And we have burned through every last dollar we had in savings and otherwise between travel back and forth (2 hours plus at times), upping our groceries to keep up with trying to breastfeed, and making sure we had everything for her to come home eventually.

And I'm hitting a point where I'm seriously concerned what the next few months will look like financially for our family and pets.

So now I'm asking for help. Even if it's a dollar, it's a dollar more than we have to spare right now Thank you to anyone who got this far and read all of this. This has been a nightmare rollercoaster I wouldn't wish on my greatest enemy.

Any funds received will go towards travel expenses back and forth from the hospital, making sure our bills stay paid, and any left over will go toward diapers and wipes
