My name is Sarah, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my 3-month-old daughter, Viola. In just a short time, she has already been through more than any baby should. Viola was diagnosed with dysphasia and severe reflux, and she has been hospitalized twice. During her second hospital stay, a swallow study showed that she is not safe to take anything by mouth at all. Right now, she is being fed through a nasogastric tube and needs ongoing care that includes speech therapy, physical therapy, an aerodigestive specialist, and close pediatrician monitoring for at least the next 6 months. As her mom and primary caregiver, I am doing everything I can to help her heal, grow, and reach her milestones.
Even with insurance and in-network providers, the out-of-pocket costs are adding up quickly and will continue week after week. Her therapy copays are $85 per visit, with speech therapy recommended 3 to 4 times each week and physical therapy 2 to 3 times each week. On top of that, her feeding tube supplies still cost us about $80 to $160 each month, and we are also facing gas costs for constant travel to appointments, hospital bills that insurance does not fully cover, and lost income because I cannot return to work full time until Viola’s medical and therapy needs decrease significantly. If you are able to help, a one-time donation would mean so much, and recurring donations would be especially helpful because they would help us keep up with Viola’s ongoing therapy visits, monthly feeding tube supplies, and regular travel for her care over the months ahead. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our fundraiser would also mean the world to our family. Thank you for supporting Viola and walking alongside us during this time.
