My 9-year-old granddaughter, Viola Meeker, is currently hospitalized due to an emergency surgery she had on her sinuses and behind her left eye. After a doctor's appointment, two ER visits to two different hospitals, an ambulance transport to Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, and surgery to put in a drain tube above her eye to drain an abscess and clean out her packed sinus cavities, she is on a rollercoaster ride with ups and downs in her condition. The surgeons told my daughter (Viola's mom) they've never seen such a bad case of what they referred to as 'Panda Eye' (massive swelling around her eye caused by ocular cellulitis). Viola has endured more pain than most adults do in a lifetime. It broke my heart to see what she was going through and continues to go through. She's not out of the woods yet.

Viola is one of the sweetest and toughest little girls, who remains positive and refers to her left eye as her 'getting better eye' instead of her 'bad eye.' Her family is incurring a lot of medical debt, and the bills have already started rolling in. I ask that you help by donating whatever you can afford. Every little bit will help the family in the short term with transportation, lodging, meal expenses, and lost wages, and long-term with medical bills and potential medical supplies and devices for Viola.
