My name is Viola Gilbert, and I am an educational advocate from the depths of my being. I am seeking to further my education by obtaining my doctoral degree.

Why I’m Asking for Your Support on My Doctoral Journey

Since I was a child growing up in Lackawanna, NY, I’ve dreamed of earning my doctorate—not for the prestige, but because I’ve always believed in the power of education to change lives. I’ve always wanted more—more knowledge, more opportunities to serve, more ways to make a meaningful impact.

Education is my calling. I find deep joy in nurturing students’ minds, sparking their curiosity, and watching them grow. I also take pride in mentoring fellow educators—encouraging their growth, supporting their challenges, and celebrating their wins. And I truly believe in the importance of family engagement—helping parents feel heard, valued, and empowered in their child’s education.

Now, I’m ready to take the next step: earning my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) at Regent University.

This journey will equip me to make an even greater difference. I want to engage in deeper conversations around curriculum, embrace innovative strategies, and help more students fall in love with learning. Most importantly, I want to expand my reach—to share knowledge, inspire educators, and advocate for students and families on a larger scale.

The cost of the program is $48,800 (not including tech and online fees), and while I’m doing everything I can to manage expenses, I can’t do this alone.
