Hurricane Melissa Relief for my family in Vineyard, St. Elizabeth
My name is Ralston Taylor known as Sligo Nebula in the Jamaican Community. I was born and raised in Jamaica but I am currently living in Ottawa Canada and the recent Hurricane Melissa has deeply affected my family in my hometown community of Vineyard, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica which is remotely located close to Black River. I have family whose homes have been damaged, roads are blocked, and they are struggling to access essential supplies. In particular, I have two sisters who need help. If you feel moved to lend a hand, any amount big or small will make a real difference. In the short term, funds will be used getting them essential items such as water and food, medicine, and other basic necessities for daily living. In the longer term, support will help with repairs to damaged roofs and homes, as well as replacing essential household items like clothing, mattresses, and furniture that were lost.
Every contribution will go directly a family member in need and I’ll share a personal “thank you” message from each recipient and follow up as to what the money was used for so you can see the difference your kindness makes. Photos from Vineyard are limited right now due to flooding and water damage to cell phones. Pictures and videos will be uploaded as they become available.
Thank you for standing with my family and our community during this difficult time.
