Help Vine's Family Recover from Fire Tragedy
Donation protected

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, at about midnight and after falling asleep in the living room while having family movie night, Vine Hernandez, her husband and her three minor children woke up to banging on their doors and breaking windows from neighbors informing them that their house was on fire. In a panic, Vine and her husband split up and each grabbed their kids, focusing on her son who was asleep in the room that was on fire. Her kids are now very traumatized from this tragic event. Their neighbors were able to stabilize the fire until the Fire Department arrived and thankfully, they all made it out safely with minors burns and scratches. The landlord had installed a fly zapper just outside of her son’s room many years ago which made a spark and lit up her son’s bedroom (he was in his room asleep) and entire patio area which had many leaves on the roof and caught on fire, causing her son’s bedroom to be destroyed and red-tagged, including the awning of their patio and several furniture items, both indoors and out. Due to this fire, their landlord has been unlawfully trying to evict the family, however, because of financial constraints with this unexpected tragedy, they have not been able to leave the home so are currently all sleeping in the living room until they find a place to live.
Not all of us are fortunate enough to be sitting on a pile of cash or have large amounts of money it costs to move to a new home/apartment; therefore, I am asking for any donations that could help place Vine and her family in a home or apartment or at least temporary housing. We all know how difficult it could be to ask for assistance, so that’s why I’m asking for donations on their behalf. Your donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in supporting the family during this challenging time, so I humbly ask for your generosity and also to share their story. Your kindness and compassion will make a world of difference as they move towards recovery from this frightening event. Thank you in advance.
