Our Story
Our son, Vincent, is a fighter. For years, he has battled medication-resistant focal seizures that have impacted every aspect of his childhood. We have tried every available medical avenue, leading us eventually to the most difficult decision a parent can make: brain surgery.
While Vincent’s bravery has been endless, the surgery and exhaustive medication trials have brought us to a crossroads. We are currently at the end of the line for traditional medical treatments, yet Vincent still faces the daily unpredictability and danger of his condition.
The Mission: More Than a Pet
We have recently welcomed a puppy into our home with a very specific purpose. This isn't just a family pet; this puppy is Vincent’s future lifeline. Our goal is to put this puppy through professional Seizure Response and Service Animal training.
A fully trained service dog will be able to:
Detect and Alert: Provide early warnings before a seizure occurs, allowing us to get Vincent to safety.
Provide Physical Support: Keep Vincent safe during a seizure and provide "grounding" or "deep pressure therapy" to help him recover afterward.
Offer Independence: Give Vincent the confidence to navigate the world with a constant guardian by his side.
Why We Need Your Help
The cost of professional service dog training is extensive, often reaching tens of thousands of dollars due to the specialized skills required. Because we have exhausted our resources on medical bills and surgical costs, we are reaching out to our community to help us cross this final finish line.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
Professional Service Training: Specialized coaching for seizure detection and response.
Public Access Certification: Ensuring the dog can accompany Vincent everywhere—to school, doctors, and beyond.
Safety Equipment: Necessary vests and gear for a working service animal.
How You Can Help
If you aren't able to donate, please consider sharing Vincent’s story with your network. Your support—whether financial or through a simple share—gives Vincent a chance at a safer, more independent life.
Thank you for being part of Vincent’s "village" and helping us turn this puppy into a hero.
