Help Vina Rebuild a Safe Haven for Rescued Dogs in Bali

Dear friends,

I’m reaching out to ask for your help in supporting an incredible woman, Vina, who has dedicated her life to caring for dogs in Bali. She runs a boarding service for rescue dogs, relying on payments from owners who board their rescues with her. But sadly, many owners stop paying after a few months, leaving Vina to care for the dogs on her own—because she refuses to abandon them.

One of the dogs in her care is Sundara, the dog I rescued from the streets of Bali. She was lost, scared, and in desperate need of love. Vina took her in and has been caring for her ever since. Knowing that Sundara is safe and loved by Vina means everything to me, and I want to ensure that she—and all the other dogs—can continue to thrive.

This is why I created Sundara’s Sanctuary—a space dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the many dogs in Bali who need food, shelter, and medical care. And right now, these dogs need our help more than ever.

The Urgent Problem

Recently, Vina’s backyard—once a safe and happy place for the dogs to run and play—was completely flooded. The land was originally a rice field, which means it naturally holds water. When heavy rains came, the yard turned into a pond, leaving the dogs stuck inside for weeks. The situation worsened because the road next to her house was built higher than her land, causing even more water to flow into the yard with no proper drainage to remove it.

Now, every time it rains, the backyard turns into a puddle for almost a month, forcing the dogs to stay inside for long periods. Then, just when they can finally go outside again, the next rain comes, and the cycle repeats. This isn’t just an inconvenience—it’s affecting their well-being.

The Solution & How You Can Help

We need to raise the ground level and install proper drainage to stop the flooding so the dogs can safely go outside again. But Vina can’t do this alone.

Total cost to fix this: $3,800

✨ $1,800 for sand to raise the ground level

✨ $1,000 for drainage and gutter installation

✨ $1,000 for labor and materials

Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to making this space a true safe haven for the dogs. If we exceed our goal, any remaining funds will go directly toward food, medical care, and other urgent needs for the dogs in Vina’s care.
