Help Vin Heal After Traumatic Brain Injury

Donation protected
Vin and I experienced a catastrophic motor vehicle accident on 10/5/25. We were both injured and transported to the hospital via ambulance. I was lucky, I was discharged 10/6/25 with a minor brain bleed and bruised ribs. Tragically, Vin's airbag didn't deploy and he sustained a skull fracture and traumatic brain injury (TBI). He was in critical care for a few days and is recovering from a craniotomy to repair his skull. Vin will need outpatient rehab with PT, OT, and speech/language pathology to get back to 100%. Frankly it's a miracle he's alive and I am so grateful the universe was looking out for us. Wear your seatbelts, folks!

I want to share a bit about us and the adorable little family we've built together! Vin is a chocolatier at Hedonist Artisan Chocolates (they also make amazing ice cream). I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner caring for kiddos and teens with mental and behavioral health needs. Our first date was on January 11th, 2019 at Swillburger (which is still one of our favorite places to go because we're both nerds). On our one-year anniversary we adopted our fluffy chonky kitty named Barnaby Barn-Baby Garbage (BBG for short). Vin is an avid reader and talented guitarist, and in my spare time I make collages and herbal remedies. We enjoy hiking, camping, and playing video games together. Someday we hope to build a homestead with a big garden and chickens.

In addition to the ambulance and hospital bills, our vehicle was sadly totaled (RIP Toyota Prius, you were a good car). Vin won't be able to work for the forseeable future, and I will also need to take time off to care for him. It's going to be a long road to recovery, and we are asking for your help and support! If you are able to donate, any amount makes a difference!

We plan to allocate any funds raised to the following:
-paying off our ambulance and hospital bills
-living expenses while neither of us are able to work
-getting Vin a new pair of glasses
-Ubers to and from appointments
-the down payment for a "new" used car so we can get to the grocery store etc.
-a functioning laptop so I can get back to work (from home) sooner

We are blessed to have such a wonderful community of friends, family, and loved ones. If you have the means to make a donation, any amount will make a meaningful difference to Vin's TBI recovery. If you are able to donate $50 or more it would be my honor to make you a personalized collage as a show of my undying gratitude!

Sending out all my love and thanks <333
