Help Viktoria Fight Brain Cancer

Hello everyone. My name is Inna Mukakhel and I’m raising funds for Viktoria Yarmak, a relative of our family.
Viktoria is 31 years old and currently lives in Kyiv, Ukraine. Just two years ago, she married the love of her life, and together they adopted a sweet cat. Sadly, this spring their young family received devastating news: Viktoria was diagnosed with grade 2 gliomas with mutations in the IDH1 or IDH2 genes.

Viktoria has already undergone surgery to remove most of the tumor. Her family managed to cover the cost of the surgery themselves, but shortly after, they organized a fundraiser in Ukraine to support her recovery treatment. After covering rehabilitation expenses, there was 290,297 UAH left in the bank account.

When Viktoria received the prescription for targeted chemotherapy, the family decided to act quickly and use these funds — along with their own savings — to purchase the first 3 packages of the medication (worth 406,476 UAH) to start treatment as soon as possible.

Viktoria began treatment with VORANIGO® (Servier) about two weeks ago. This is the first and only approved therapy for adults with grade 2 gliomas with IDH1 or IDH2 mutations.

However, to complete the minimum course of treatment, Viktoria will need 9 more packages of Voranigo. The total cost of this essential therapy is approximately 1,200,000 UAH (around $40,300 CAD). This amount is far beyond what Viktoria and her husband can cover on their own.

Viktoria and her husband are actively applying to various organizations for assistance, but the process takes time — and treatment must continue without interruption.

So far, almost 133,700 UAH (4,500 CAD) has already been raised in Ukraine, but a significant amount is still needed. At this stage, every dollar truly counts — whether it’s $1, $2, or $5, your support will make a real difference.

You can also find Victoria on Instagram: @viktoriia.yarmak. Her husband, Oleksandr, helps her run the account. Before her diagnosis, Viktoria shared moments from her everyday life there, and now they post updates on her fundraising progress and treatment.

If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, coworkers, or community — that alone can help more than you might imagine.

Thank you so much for being with Viktoria and our family during this difficult time. Your kindness means the world to us.
